Conrad Hong Kong’s Brasserie on the Eighth Returns with French Delicacies and Skyline Views

After a three-year hiatus, the beloved French dining spot 懷歐敘, known as Brasserie on the Eighth, has officially reopened at the Conrad Hong Kong in Admiralty. This revival brings back a refined destination for classic French cuisine, where guests can indulge in meticulously crafted dishes while taking in sweeping city vistas from the restaurant’s floor-to-ceiling windows.

Ambiance and Setting

The interior design blends light wood tones with soft, ambient lighting, creating a relaxed yet elegant atmosphere. Whether planning a romantic date, a birthday celebration, or an intimate business dinner, the space adapts seamlessly. Private dining rooms are available for those seeking extra discretion, while the large windows ensure that every table enjoys a spectacular view of the Hong Kong skyline.

Menu Highlights

The menu showcases traditional French fare with premium ingredients. Starters include the classic baked escargot (HKD 230), prepared with herbs, garlic, and butter, alongside a well-seasoned beef tartare (HKD 280) served with bread.

Seafood enthusiasts will appreciate the luxurious seafood platter (HKD 1,080), which features Boston lobster, Japanese king crab legs, French seasonal oysters, Spanish red shrimp, American scallops, and Dutch mussels. The signature lobster bisque (HKD 180) is simmered for six hours using fresh Boston lobster, coral, and shrimp oil, resulting in a deeply savory bowl.

For mains, the pan-seared sea bass (HKD 380) comes with caviar and fava bean mousse. Meat lovers can choose from the Australian T-bone steak (HKD 1,450 for two), the French Charolais fillet (HKD 820 for 8 oz), or the US tomahawk steak (HKD 1,950 for three to four people). Desserts are equally indulgent, featuring a French soufflé (HKD 160) made to order with a crisp exterior and soft center, and a vanilla crème brûlée (HKD 160) topped with caramelized sugar, almond crumble, and salted caramel ice cream.

Tasting Menu Experience

A four-course tasting menu is available at HKD 688 per person. Options include marinated scallops or pan-seared duck liver to start, followed by black truffle mushroom cream soup or the signature lobster bisque. Main courses range from US sirloin steak and pan-seared prawns to roasted sea bass. Desserts feature mille-feuille with strawberries or the vanilla crème brûlée, with coffee or tea and petits fours to finish.
