Tokyo’s acclaimed solo-yakiniku chain Gyuban has opened its fourth Hong Kong branch in Tai Koo’s Kornhill Plaza, celebrating with a limited-time $1 Japanese chicken add-on for diners who order any set on select March dates. The new outlet continues the brand’s signature one-person barbecue format, with budget-friendly sets starting at HK$58 and afternoon tea from HK$36.
The restaurant, which has grown to more than 160 locations worldwide, built its reputation on high-value, individual yakiniku sets that include meat, rice, kimchi or a Japanese side dish, and miso soup. Now Tai Koo residents can enjoy the experience without leaving the neighborhood.
Opening Promotion: $1 Japanese Chicken
To mark the launch at Kornhill Plaza, Gyuban is running a limited-time offer on March 11–13 and March 18–20. Customers who purchase any set can add one of three Japanese chicken cuts for just HK$1: Nan-koku chicken thigh, chicken neck meat, or chicken triangular soft bone (50g each). It’s a small splurge that lets diners sample premium poultry without stretching their budget.
April Specials at Three Branches
The new Tai Koo outlet, along with the Mong Kok and Tuen Mun locations, will roll out two weekly deals in April. Every Monday, the “88 Blue Monday” promotion offers discounted prices on select grilled items. Every Wednesday, the signature A2 Gyuban Set is reduced: a 150g version for HK$92 (regularly HK$112) and a 250g version for HK$135 (regularly HK$155). These offers target weekday diners looking for consistent value.
New B5 Set and Suntory Tap
The Kornhill branch introduces the exclusive B5 “Strongest” Yakiniku Set, featuring Tokachi wagyu shoulder blade slices (100g), Tokachi wagyu leg meat, and Iberico pork rib strips (50g), served with a special egg-yolk dipping sauce. To round out the meal, the outlet now pours Suntory’s top-selling premium draft beer in black and white variants—a first for the chain locally.
Afternoon Tea From HK$36
Beyond set meals, Gyuban has expanded its afternoon menu. Two solo yakiniku afternoon sets are now available from HK$58, while a dedicated afternoon tea option starts at HK$36—making it one of the more accessible ways to enjoy grilled meat in a solo dining setting. Lunch sets on weekdays start at HK$78.
