Hong Kong’s First LuLu the Pig Supermarket Cafe Opens in Mong Kok

The globally beloved LuLu the Pig has officially stepped out of his iconic tin can and into the culinary world with the grand opening of Hong Kong’s first-ever “LuLu’s Supermarket Journey” themed cafe. Taking over Kingsley Café in Mong Kok’s T.O.P mall from February 21 through April 20, 2026, this immersive pop-up transforms the pink character into a pint-sized procurement officer and head chef. Fans can expect a curated experience that blends interactive “supermarket” photo zones with a highly creative menu featuring exclusive take-home merchandise.

Immersive Grocery-Themed Photo Opportunities

The cafe’s entrance sets a playful tone with three primary photo installations designed to mimic a whimsical grocery store. A 1:1 scale 3D LuLu the Pig greeted by a classic blue tin can welcomes visitors, offering a tactile experience that traditional flat displays lack. Further inside, guests can step behind a dedicated checkout counter for role-playing opportunities or pose beside a giant “100% Happiness” receipt affixed to the main doors. The attention to detail extends to the seating area, where the booths are furnished with vibrant red, yellow, and blue LuLu-shaped plush cushions.

Culinary Innovation Meets Supermarket Staples

Kingsley Café has developed a menu that reinterprets supermarket best-sellers into gourmet dishes. The initial rollout, available through March 31, centers on several signature items:

  • Pork Belly Omelet Rice ($129): Featuring a silken egg wrap and rich curry, the dish is headlined by a LuLu-shaped rice mold and thick-cut luncheon meat.
  • Caramel “Luncheon Meat” Cocoa ($89): This creative beverage features a chocolate cookie crafted to resemble a slice of canned meat, served atop steaming hot cocoa.
  • Strawberry Napoleon ($109): Inspired by the supermarket fruit aisle, this dessert layers fresh berries and flaky pastry with a surprise LuLu centerpiece.

For those planning a later visit, the cafe will introduce a second phase starting March 16, featuring specialized pizza sets and exclusive pork-based delicacies.

Limited Edition Merchandise and Interactive Perks

A major draw for collectors is the “eat and keep” promotional strategy. During the first phase, specific orders come bundled with limited-edition gifts. Purchasing a hot drink includes a ceramic themed mug, while snacks are served on a LuLu-branded wooden platter that guests can keep. Additionally, single receipts exceeding $200 qualify for a limited-edition badge.

The retail corner also introduces the debut of the “Supermarket Plush Blind Box” series, alongside denim embroidered tote bags and cozy blankets available for pre-order.

Expanding the LuLu Universe

This Mong Kok debut follows a successful traditional crossover where LuLu the Pig appeared as a “waiter” at the legendary Lin Heung Tea House. While the T.O.P cafe offers a modern, retail-themed experience, the Lin Heung collaboration highlights the character’s versatility, featuring “dim sum paper” apparel and specialized “Lu’s Kitchen” blind boxes. Together, these events represent a significant expansion of character-based dining in Hong Kong’s competitive F&B landscape.
