Sushi Express Teams Up with Hatsune Miku for Hong Kong Pop-Up Feast

Hong Kong Sushi Express has announced its first-ever collaboration with global mobile rhythm game phenomenon Project Sekai: Colorful Stage! feat. Hatsune Miku. From July 21 to August 20, 2026, three specially decorated themed stores will open across the city, offering limited-edition menu items bundled with exclusive collectible merchandise. Fans can also purchase add-on figures and claim free stickers through in-store spending promotions.

Three Specially Themed Stores

The partnership transforms three Sushi Express outlets into immersive spaces inspired by the virtual world of Project Sekai. These branches feature large-scale character displays, life-sized standees, and themed table decorations that recreate iconic scenes from the game.

The designated locations are:

  • Causeway Bay Plaza Phase 2 – Shop 3A, 3/F, 463–483 Lockhart Road, Causeway Bay
  • Kai Tak Retail Arcade 2 – Shop M2-302, 2–3/F, 38–39 Shing Kai Road, Kowloon
  • Tsuen Wan Plaza – Shops 301–302, 3/F, 4–30 Tai Pa Street, Tsuen Wan

Each store’s visual design highlights the virtual singer Hatsune Miku alongside five in-game music groups: Leo/need, MORE MORE JUMP!, Vivid BAD SQUAD, Wonderlands×Showtime, and 25-ji, Nightcord de.

Limited-Edition Menu Items and Collectibles

Four exclusive dishes will be available across all Sushi Express locations during the campaign period. Every order includes a random collectible as part of the dining experience.

  • Large Salmon Belly (HK$17) – A generously cut piece of rich salmon belly. Comes with one random themed insert flag featuring characters from VIRTUAL SINGER, MORE MORE JUMP!, or Vivid BAD SQUAD.
  • Albacore Tuna Layered with Lean Tuna and Minced Tuna (HK$17) – Stacked albacore and lean tuna topped with minced tuna and flying fish roe. Includes a random insert flag with characters from Leo/need, Wonderlands×Showtime, or 25-ji, Nightcord de.
  • Chocolate Lava Cake (HK$27) – A soft chocolate sponge with molten filling. Comes with one random clear collection card showcasing six characters enjoying sushi.
  • Collaboration Drink Set (HK$69) – A refreshing soft drink paired with a multi-purpose card holder and mini standee. The holder comes in group-specific colors, and the standee can be detached for display.

All collectibles feature characters dressed in exclusive Sushi Express-themed outfits with red, black, and white color schemes.

Exclusive Add-On Merchandise

For customers spending at least HK$200 net in a single dine-in or takeaway receipt (excluding delivery platforms), an additional purchase option opens: a limited-edition combination standing charm pendant for HK$99 each. Each receipt allows up to two pendants at HK$200, or four at HK$400 or more.

These pendants are designed around the five in-game music groups. Each set includes small character standees that can be inserted into a base to create a mini stage display, or detached to hang as bag charms using silver bead chains.

Free Sticker Giveaway

Sushi Express is also running a three-step promotion for a free collaborative sticker. Customers must:

  1. Spend at least HK$300 net on dine-in or takeaway at participating branches.
  2. Like or follow the official Hong Kong Sushi Express Facebook or Instagram page.
  3. Show the follow confirmation at checkout.

Six sticker designs are available at random, featuring characters in their sushi-themed outfits. Each receipt qualifies for one sticker while supplies last. Note that the Kowloon Bay Amoy Plaza and LOHAS Park branches are excluded from this offer.

Why This Collaboration Matters

Developed by SEGA and Colorful Palette, Project Sekai: Colorful Stage! has surpassed 39 million global downloads, drawing a massive young fanbase in Hong Kong. The game’s narrative follows five groups of teenagers who enter a virtual world called “SEKAI,” guided by virtual singers including Hatsune Miku, Kagamine Rin and Len, Megurine Luka, MEIKO, and KAITO.

Hatsune Miku herself—created by Crypton Future Media using Yamaha’s VOCALOID engine—has earned the title “World’s First Princess” for her enduring influence across music and pop culture. Her name combines “first sound” and “future,” symbolizing the limitless possibilities of digital music.

For collectors and rhythm-game enthusiasts, this three-week partnership promises rare merchandise and a unique dining experience. Given past anime-food collaborations in Hong Kong, items are expected to sell out quickly. Fans are advised to visit early, bring sufficient budget for add-on purchases, and follow Sushi Express’s social channels for real-time stock updates. Terms and conditions apply; all offers are subject to change by the organizer.
