Victoria Park Annual Fair Launches 400 Stalls for Lunar New Year

Hong Kong, February 11, 2026 – Hong Kong’s largest and most anticipated annual festive event, the Victoria Park Lunar New Year Fair, officially commenced operations today, February 11, running through the morning of Lunar New Year Day on February 17. The 2026 fair features a total of 400 vendor stalls offering everything from auspicious Year of the Horse-themed novelty goods and fresh decorative floral arrangements to an array of ready-to-eat street food, providing a vital cultural and commercial hub in preparation for the upcoming holiday.

Located at Victoria Park in Causeway Bay, the week-long bazaar serves as a central destination for residents to purchase traditional goods and immerse themselves in the vibrant atmosphere preceding the Lunar New Year celebrations. With 180 wet goods stalls (primarily dedicated to flowers and plants), 216 dry goods stalls (comprising 170 standard and 46 larger units), and four dedicated fast-food concessionaires, consumer offerings are diverse, catering to both ritualistic needs and casual entertainment.

The 2026 fair will operate on extended hours throughout its seven-day run. On February 11 and 12, the park welcomes visitors from 8 a.m. until midnight. Hours are further extended on February 13 through 15, staying open until 1 a.m. The culmination of the event occurs on the final day, February 16, when the fair opens at 8 a.m. and closes sharply at 7 a.m. on Lunar New Year Day (February 17). Access points are generally located near Hing Fat Street and Gloucester Road.

To manage the expected large crowds, especially during peak weekend hours, the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department (FEHD) has implemented a real-time crowd control system. This system displays the congestion level of 14 major Lunar New Year fairs across the territory, including Victoria Park, using a simple traffic light model available on the FEHD website:

  • Green: Indicates low crowd density and easy movement.
  • Yellow: Suggests moderate crowding within the venue.
  • Red: Signals high levels of overcrowding, advising potential visitors to delay entry.

Visitors should note that entry to the fairgrounds will cease 15 minutes before the stated closing time each day to facilitate vendor clearance and management.

Essential Visitor Information and Transport

The fair’s location at 1 Hing Fat Street, Causeway Bay, makes it highly accessible via public transport, though special traffic arrangements are in effect due to the event.

Key Transportation Options:

  • MTR: Visitors can use the Causeway Bay Station (Exit E) with direct signage towards the fair’s entrance near Sugar Street, or the Tin Hau Station (Exit A2), requiring a short 3- to 5-minute walk along Hing Fat Street to the opposite entrance.
  • Tram: Trams heading towards “Causeway Bay” or “Happy Valley” stop at “Victoria Park” or “King’s Road,” placing the fairgrounds within a 2- to 3-minute walking distance.
  • Buses/Minibuses: Numerous routes (including 2, 8P, 10, 112, etc.) serve stops like “Victoria Park” (Causeway Bay Road), “Hing Fat Street,” or “Causeway Bay Typhoon Shelter,” all within a short stroll of the venue.

In cooperation with the event, the Transport Department has initiated a phased program of temporary road closures, pedestrian zones, and public transport stoppages or diversions in the Causeway Bay and Tin Hau vicinities. Event attendees are strongly advised to consult the latest updates from the Transport Department or FEHD for the most current travel advisories and a detailed market floor plan. Celebrating the Year of the Horse, the Victoria Park Fair remains a quintessential part of Hong Kong’s welcoming of the new zodiac cycle.
